This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 10 is about evaluating students. The three ways to assess a student's language level is through tutorials, evaluation by the students, and tests. There are different kinds of tests. The placement tests enable teachers to place new students into the correct class according to their language ability. Progress tests are used periodically to gauge what language has been remembered and forgotten. Diagnostic tests are given at the start of the course to see what the students already know. Practice tests follow the format and structure of an external examination that they are being given in preparation for. I learned the importance of testing students as a teacher for multiple purposes already mentioned.
