This unit on teaching receptive skills was pretty straight-forward and easy to understand. I learned that reading and listening can either be fore purpose of for entertainment, and I also had never thought about HOW we read and listen and that its really not just about our eyes and ears. The example of the \"Bears destroyed by Cowboys\" was a very good example is showing this and how for us, it is easy and common-sense that it is a sports team, but for other nationalities, this could be overwhelming and problematic, based on the words. I like the idea of the teacher creating the motivation ad interest in the class, instead of having to try to please everyone with a topic you think they could like. I learned a lot on this lesson even though it was shorter, and I really enjoyed leaning something new.
