Unit 7 is about teaching new language. It shows how to deliver new vocabulary, grammar and language functions together with examples of how to apply the ESA methods to introduce new language. I have learned about techniques for vocabulary teaching and about techniques for presenting and practising language structures and functions. For example, a suitable activity for encouraging new vocabulary is to use pictures to elicit the meaning of words (Engage phase) and for teaching language functions it is most effective to use the boomerang and patchwork type of ESA lessons because it will stress the need for activation of the language.
