This unit separated different potential groups that a typical ESL teacher would face. Some of the information would be considered common sense but it is a good thing to think about more specific needs of each type. There is a clear distinction between children, adults and business students. I think it is important to note that all groups should not be threatened or yelled at. It is important to be positive to all groups. I think it is great to have a needs analysis for particularly older students because they usually have more motivation and know what they want as a final goal, even if it is to just simply be a little more confident. I think it is really hard to plan a program so I would like more information how to do that more efficiently and effectively.
