Unit 3 shares about managing the classroom. From proper eye contact to TTT (teacher talk time) etiquette it contains the tools for effective teaching. Eye contact, gestures, and the tone of your voice will all three help in building rapport. Seating arrangements can be done according to the size of the class, chairs and tables available, age of the students, nationality, and student personalities. When writing on the board make sure to keep ones back turned away from the class as minimal as possible. There is a disadvantage and advantage to TTT. The disadvantage is the students don't have as much talk time and the advantage is the students hear English in the native tongue. When giving instructions use simple language, be consistent, use visual clues and check the instructions. I have learned in this unit the importance of seating and rapport in order to create the best atmosphere for the students to learn in.
