This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 4 covered the affirmative, negative, and question forms of the four present verb tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. Suggestions for activate stage activities were provided for all four tenses, as well as the formation and usages. Some of the primary usages for each are as follows:
present simple - habitual actions
present continuous - an action that began in the past, and may continue into the future
present perfect - a past action with an indefinite time span
present perfect continuous - an action that began in the past and continues until the present moment
One of the key takeaways I had from this Unit was the refresher about the role of auxiliary verbs. I also appreciated the examples of common ways learners make mistakes with these tenses, and the instruction to plan ahead for ways to correct these mistakes.
