This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit discussed the various future tenses. It discussed how this is most difficult of the three time frames. Not only are there more conjugations for the future tenses, there are also more subtleties in the different purposes for which they are used. For example, knowing that I am going to go to the store represents a plan that you'd already thought about before speaking is different than I will go to the store, which indicates a decision you made at the time of your conversation or statement is a difficult subtlety for someone who is not a native speaker. I think that having a more properly defined list of what each tense is supposed to accomplish has really helped me reinforce my understanding and will help me to explain it to my students more effectively in the future. Often times the books that I'm supplied don't give a good explanation, and I've had to either look it up myself or think through the logic of why we use it how we do.
