This unit discussed the productive skills of languages learning, Writing and speaking. Similar to receptive skills, both are equally important. These skills also brought fluency and accuracy into the discussion. Accuracy activities focusing on the correct use of the language (including grammar, punctuation and spellings) and fluency focusing more on the creativity of the student with the language, its effectiveness and flow of communication. The unit discussed further, the problems that come with teaching these skills and suggested a number of techniques/activities a teacher can employ to teach more effectively. Lastly, the unit also discussed the importance of using games as tools to teach productive skills.
