This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit gave 2 examples of how a lesson might be executed - both an ineffective lesson as well as an effective, engaging lesson. I learned that the attitude, tone, and rapport that the teacher uses are critical to the receptiveness of the students to the lesson. I also learned how important it is to introduce the objective at the beginning of a lesson and use gestures to help the students understand instructions. Using established gestures definitely helped the students in the 2nd video of this unit understand and feel comfortable. I now have a better grasp on how a lesson plan looks on paper and then looks in action in the classroom.
