In unit 9 focused on the importance of a lesson plan in that it provides a flexible, working document one can refer to during the lesson and a point of reference as to what has been taught and what needs to be taught in the future. A lesson plan is also useful when another teacher might need to take over the lesson. The content of the lesson plan can vary from teacher to teacher, but the learning objective, language point, phase, timing, and anticipated problems, I feel, are particularly important to keep on target and maintain the flow of the lesson. Most importantly the anticipated problems because these can vary from culture to culture. It is also helpful to do a self evaluation in order to understand the teacher's role in what worked or didn't work in the class.
