This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on the importance of using and teaching productive skills. Productive skills are speaking and writing. Both productive skills are of equal importance, but In many cases writing can often be overlooked because teachers do not want to spend valuable class time in silence. Therefor writing often gets assigned to homework materials and is easily overlooked. Writing is an internal part of fluency in learning any language and must be given the proper attention. Examples of how to engage the students in fun writing activities are games such as, hangman, crossword puzzles, word searches, and more. Speaking is the second productive skill. Here the students are able to apply grammar learned in class and add their personal creativity.
