I found the reported speech section of this unit very difficult. Although the chart of what the various verb tenses change into was very helpful, there are still number of areas I don't quite understand. For example: Paul said, I go swimming on Tuesdays. I would assume that since the action appears to continue indefinitely, that when reporting this action, one would say that Paul goes swimming on Tuesdays - he still goes. But according to the tense chart, the present continuous changes to the past continuous, which would mean that Paul went swimming on Tuesdays, as though he has now stopped going swimming on Tuesdays... I need some help understanding this further.
