Unit 4 discusses about how to teach a new language. Teaching vocabulary, grammar and functions are basically some lessons we have to teach as an EFL teacher. Thus, knowing how to introduce these lessons will aid the teacher how to create effective plans and appropriate activities for the class to help them thoroughly grasp and learned these lessons. Further, ESA methods can be easily applied for this purpose. Varied ESA structures will help in plotting out and guiding as to how these lessons will be taught. A Straight Arrow -ESA approach is commonly used for grammar or vocabulary lessons while Boomerang or Patchwork ESA structure can also be best for function based lessons. However, it's up to the teacher's flexibility and prerogative as to which structure is best to employ for his/her lessons whether it is grammar, vocabulary or functions.
