The unit is about the use of course books and materials in the classroom. In the unit two types of materials are discussed which are authentic materials such as magazines, newspapers and restaurant menus which can be used in the classroom depending on the language level of your students. The second category is the use of created materials such as role play cards and gap fill exercises which are created for the classroom or for a particular lesson.
Course books and the use of them and the advantages and disadvantages of them are also discussed and how best as a teacher you can incorporate them in a lesson, without making the lesson predictable and boring for the students.
