This unit on teaching new language highlighted the ways a teacher should approach teaching new vocabulary, grammar, and language functions. For each subset I learned what the student needs to learn about each and possible techniques for teaching them. A straight ESA lesson may be more appropriate for teaching vocabulary but not necessarily so for teaching language functions or grammar in which which a boomerang or patchwork lesson might be more suitable. The sample activities I found most helpful, especially what types of specific activities the class should be involved in at each stage of engage, study and activate. Exposing the students to new language, having them understand the meaning, how it's constructed along with the ability to pronounce it is sure foundation for acquiring fluency.
