This unit reminds me a lot of a linguistics class I took in college. This was all good review on phonetics and pronunciation in English; it's easy to forget how we pronounce words differently in everyday speech vs. how we write them. I think I would personally rather incorporate pronunciation on sort of an as you go basis, paired with vocabulary and speaking activities. One thing I wish this unit might have covered more is how to teach pronunciation, even of simple sounds, to young learners, particularly because their pronunciation of letters will be the foundation for the rest of their English learning in future grades.
