Appropriate lesson structure, mostly geared toward classes with multiple students was covered in this unit, as well as various pros and cons inherent in given methodologies. ESA is a widely used method structure, and the methodology focus in this course. Engage and activate activity ideas were helpful. I found the nuances regarding errors versus mistakes, and when a correction is appropriate both surprising and useful. In reflecting upon past work with early readers I now realize I may have been impeding my students? learning by immediately correcting mid-lesson even during activities that could be considered ?warm up? time.
