This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on how to teach our students the two productive skills which are Speaking and Writing. Based on what I have read, teaching our students these two set of skills are essential. Both of these skills are needed in order for them to learn English better. Thus, these two set of skills are equally essential in the process of learning the language since speaking is needed to communicate while writing is needed to put the language in a written and creative way. However, the rules in speaking and in writing are quite different since they follow different approaches. Enhancing the speaking skills of students is more focused on developing their sense of fluency while enhancing the writing skills of students is more on developing their accuracy in a more extensive and sensible manner. However, even if that is the case, varied types of strategies in teaching can be applied in order to teach these two skills effectively in which those strategies are discussed briefly in this unit. On the other hand, this unit also tackles the use of games in teaching our lesson. In which games should be integrated in teaching since it motivates our learners and at the same time promotes a stimulating kind of environment. And through games the process of learning becomes more enjoyable to our students. Furthermore, I think as educators we should remember that in the process of teaching and learning; having fun and providing meaningful experiences to our learners are the most effective ways on producing a long-term learning.
