In this unit I have learn't the importance of receptive skills and that they are reading an listening skills. I also learn't that there are two motives for reading and listening and they are for a purpose and for entertainment. This helps me realise that it is important which topic you choose for the task and that you should choose a topic that interests the students, it will usually be over a couple of lessons that would will use all the students interests. Using the students interest keeps them engaged and motivated. I also have a better understaning as how to plan a lesson based on teaching receptive skills.
