Receptive and productive skills are as equally important and should both try to be included in every lesson. This is an idea that I found interesting because language teachers (from my past history) have seemed to side with one or the other, or lean to teaching one set more than the other. After going through Unit 11, I can understand why receptive skills are so important to learn. Receptive skills do carry some problems over into the classroom; however, they should not be too hard to work out if the proper solutions are used. I found that the example at the end showed the immense advantages of using proper receptive teaching techniques in the classroom.
