This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The lesson covers, to my mind, the most difficult skills - production skills: writing and speaking. Sometimes writing may even be easier to master, because speaking requires interaction with other individuals, which means that a person could be understood incorrectly, laughed at, etc. In order to avoid students stressing out about their speaking, it's important to separate fluency from accuracy - during a study phase focus on accuracy and correct the students/give them an opportunity to correct one another; during the fluency stage give them some space to find their way through language and leave mistake correction until the end of the activity.
