This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 3, concerning various teaching methods and techniques, appears to be the most valuable unit for me so far. I found out that I unconsciously used most of the techniques and methods. I can reflect all my lessons and change not very successful moments since now I clearly see how the lesson should look like in order to be more effective and useful for my students. Moreover, the information about evaluation is of great use, too. Previously I have had many questions upon how and when I should evaluate my students - all these questions are answered at the moment.
Undoubtedly, the ESA method seems much more appealing to me because I have the whole idea of each stage (engage, study, activate) and even more - examples of activities and exercises.
All in all, I would like to say that sometimes every teacher needs a guidance. From time to time we may face some problems with some learners or topics. The methodology helps us to solve such problems in the most effective way.
