Unit 14 discusses Books and Materials used in teaching EFL to students. It further provides the advantages and disadvantages of using course books in the classroom; however it also offers solution to the disadvantages. Base on my own experience, students feel bored whenever I ask them to open their books; consequently I always make sure that I have them engaged before I start my class. Videos and games really help me to do this. I have also done replacing some materials in the course books that I thought uninteresting for my students. To create a fun atmosphere in the class, it is vital that teachers know their students well so they can choose topics and activities that will suit their students' interests.
