This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
A lesson plan will contain objectives, personal aims, language point, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, phase, timing, interaction, class level, number of students, date/time and teacher and observers names. Being well prepared when planning a lesson helps the teacher to be more prepared for any surprises that may occur in a lesson. Lesson planning enables the teacher to stay on track, keep a record of what the class has done and helps the teacher think logically through various stages of the lesson. It is however important to be flexible when teaching the lesson as issues may arise that need to be dealt with that weren't already anticipated but necessary before continuing with the lesson plan prepared.
