Macroscopic techniques: case study, framework, \"problem based learning\", games, Computer Aided Language Learning, Speech Act Theory.
During case study you have to introduce and give background to the topic, pre-teach the language of the activity, set up the mechanics of the activity, demonstrate the process activity, give students a framework to use, let students complete the task, and give them feedbacks.
Frameworking: input, process, output.
Speech act theory: utterance (no meaning, no listener involved), propositional utterance (some meaning with no response), illocutionary utterances (could be a statement or question with a listener), perlocutionary utterance (intend to affect the behavior of the recipient).
