Lesson plans play a vital role in the organization and process of teaching. As unit 5 points out, a lesson plan is a guide not a word-for-word script of the class time. Notes made during or immediately after the class are helpful for planning future classes. Students may struggle with some concepts but breeze quickly through others. Teachers should be prepared for either scenario on any given day.
This lesson stresses that a lesson plan should be something with which the teacher is comfortable. Whether short notes, or detail, the lesson plan should be something you can readily refer to at a moments notice to continue the lesson or reiterate something already taught. The sample lesson plan gives enough detail to provide information for tomorrow, or many weeks from now. Learner objectives are the core of the plan giving the teacher the direction to build activities to accomplish those objectives.
The sample task sheets are incredibly helpful, and I look forward to using those strategies.
