This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this lesson I got to look at two examples of teachers in EFL classrooms. In the first video I saw a teacher who made a lot of mistakes. He wasn't very cheerful, he didn't know the students' names, and he constantly told the students how easy the material was. This made the students really wary about participation in the activities. In the second video, the teacher was much better about smiling, he knew and used the students names, and made his lesson such that the students got much more talk time. The difference of the teaching styles in the classroom really had a profound effect on the students' involvement in class, and what it appeared they were able to learn.
