In this unit I learned the main principles of classroom management. First the benefits of effective use of the eyes, voice and gestures was discussed. Then the 4 different types of class groupings were outlined, whole class, small group, pairs or individual. Next the pros and cons of arranging the seating in rows, a horseshoe, or seperate tables. I learnes ways to minimize dead time while using the board and decreasing teacher talk time while increasing student talk time. Effectively giving instructions also tied in with building rapport and student respect. This in turn would help when trying to maintain class dicipline.
