This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focused on modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. There are 9 true modal auxiliary verbs: will, would, should, shall, might, may, must, can and could. There are also several semi Modal verbs. The main uses of these verbs are: ability, advice, deduction, obligation, offer, permission, possibility, prediction, prohibition, promise, and request. When teaching you can either pick a verb and usage and teach it that way. Or you can pick a usage and show all the modals that can be used within that usage. Passive voice is used when there is unknown agent, and unimportant agent, to change the focus or to conceal the agent. Phrasal verbs are multi-word verbs, a verb with one or two participles. They are divided into three types and can be taught throughout the course. Just keep track of what you taught and build on it throughout.
