In this unit I have learned about ways of evaluating student's level by tutorials, student evaluation and tests. There are different kinds of tests, like placement or diagnostic tests that help the teacher to place students in an appropriate level group. These tests are taken before the course starts. During the course teachers can give periodic progress tests Ina formal or informal way to check how much information the students are retaining. At the end of the course , an achievement test may be performed . Students may also take practice tests if they are preparing for an external examination. These tests have the same structure as the external exam . The most widely recognized English certificates are provided by Cambridge Assessment: KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE.
