This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The unit is about the learning of past tenses. Like the present tenses, the past tenses are also divided into past simple tense, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. The past simple tense is used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. It is used with regular verbs ending with \"ed\" with many irregular verbs too. The past continuous tense can express an action, which began before that time and probably continued after it. Therefore the subject is used with was/were and verb with \"ing\". The past perfect verbs represent actions that occurred before other actions in the past. The subject is used with had/had not and past participle. The past perfect continuous talks about longer actions or situations in the past that had been going on continuously up to the past moment that we are thinking about. In this form the subject is used with had and been with verb \"ing\". There are many example sentences for each form of past tense. The teacher can activate many games and role plays for the students to practice these tenses. Some of the examples are card games, story telling, interview role play and discussing past holidays. The teacher should take care of common mistake made by students when using these tenses and correct them at the end or let the other students correct these mistakes.
