Unit 16 focuses on Conditionals and reported speech. The conditional is an important aspect of grammar with several parts that must be taught to our students. The unit explains and gives examples of the zero, first, second, third, and mixed conditional. I believe this grammar lesson is one that will be taught to higher level students as I believe it takes a more complex grasp of the language that is beyond a beginner's understanding. The part of the lesson I found the most interesting was the part on reported speech. This is something as a native speaker I do not realize I most likely automatically do when speaking. It is interesting to read a break down of how we create reported speech and how the tenses change. I think this may be another difficult aspect of language to teach and one reserved for later levels. I thought the teacher idea of holding media interviews is a creative way to 'activate' this lesson.
