This unit covered the importance of lesson planning and some templates for us in creating lesson plans. It highlighted the importance of being flexible to tune the plan as the class is in progress. It is also important to have goals and records of what has been done in the class. This helps in planning subsequent lessons as well as providing a record of what has been taught. It also allows the teacher to have someone cover for them in case of not being able to lead the class. For me, it is a process of getting myself focused on what I want to cover at a point in the overall class and as a reminder of what I want the flow to be like.
