One of the points has made me amused is that we shouldn?t use the mother tongue of students. I partly agree because I?ve noticed that in most cases to say something using the mother tongue, for instance, ?good? or ?good boy/girl? encourages students to produce (correct) English more, it makes student happy and relaxed. It definitely work with young learners. Anyway, I use the student?s mother tongue if he/she is upset or in a bad mood. And when a teacher behaves like a real kid it always makes them happy and increases the level of sensation.
One more thing I?ve loved is the part of the unit about one-to-one teaching and Business English/ESP! Extremely useful list of activities, suggestions for checking the knowledge, all information about ?business learners?.
