Phonology can be really hard for both teachers and students. For me, personally, it is the most challenging area in English and even more on teaching English. It requires a lot of time studying and trully understanding it so the teacher can teach it effectively. It is a very important topic because it makes students understand pronunciation, entonation, stress and so on, on a specific way and they can study by themselves once they understood it. The teacher must dedicate time during their class for phonology, but several educator don't do it because they actually are not confident enough to teach something so complex. Therefore is essencial that an English teacher knows the phonology to the core.
