Learning a new language takes exposure to the language, comprehension, construction of the words, practice and producing the language. Students will usually know more words than they can use and a number of factors will dictate how easy or difficult vocabulary comes to them. When introducing grammatical structures students will need to know the meaning, use, forms and patterns, and the spoken and written form of the language. Last but not least it is important students know the languages function i.e. agreeing, disagreeing, refusing etc. Frequent exposure to a new language is extremely vital to learning that language.
