Unit 18 covered modal verbs, passive versus active sentences, clauses and phrasal verbs. The modal verbs chart included true modal as well as semi-modals. At first it seemed overwhelming but, as a native speaker, I realized the uses made sense since it is how I?ve heard the modal verbs used. It was interesting to put a name like ?past ability? or ?formal request? to the uses and have example sentences of the uses. Clauses and passive/active sentences were also clear. I had the most difficult time with phrasal verbs and will have to read more on how to differentiate between the three types.
