This unit covered potential problems in the classroom and techniques on how to combat them. One such problem is the issue of teaching large classes, in this situation the teacher can use a lot of pair and group work and worksheets and ensure that their voice is audible and the board work is visible. Another problem is limiting the use of the students' native language, one way of doing this is making sure that activities are at the appropriate level and that the students have the necessary language to cope. The unit also discussed the first lessons and that these lessons should be used to obtain the students interests and language level and to build rapport, as such the lessons should involve activities such questionnaire/survey and needs analysis.
