This unit discussed three main topics: models, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice. As a native speaker, while I use many of these things in my speech these were not things I typically thought about and I was unaware of the complicated rules that were involved. This is really helpful in helping me identify what issues my students may have issues with in the future such as the fine differences between all the model verbs with their slight differences in meaning or the phrasal verbs which make sense to me but which I can now easily understand how challenging it would be for students to see the two (or more) parts of these verbs which individually mean a different thing than when they are combined.
