This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit talks about teaching receptive skills. It shows five important areas to read usefully and how the teacher can use the ESA Patchwork lesson to improve the students? skills. It also presents the teacher?s responsibility in following the basic keys to have a successful lesson with a reference to some grammatical rules to use. I learned from this unit that listening and reading skills are connected together and should be taught equally and coherently. In my opinion, the teacher should teach expected difficult words and then provide the words in many receptive activities because students develop their receptive skills by reading them in texts and listening to them from the teacher then from a specific CD player many times.
