I'm really not sure what to expect when it comes to the actual online teaching of English as a second language. This unit was a nice glimpse into some of the methodologies used when teaching different groups of students or individual students. I liked the point that the teacher's attitude and personality will help set the tone for the class most usually because it makes me feel more confident that as long as I care about my students and try hard to help them, then I will do okay. I was also grateful for the assurance that to my students I will likely seem an English 'expert' even though I may not feel like one! I'm likely to deal mostly with adults online, but will take the advice for teaching younger learners to heart as it will no doubt be useful for all ages as far as keeping things engaging and interesting. I'm eager to get started!
