In this unit I learned about a variety of teaching tools and how to use them effectively in the classroom. Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of the board as compared to the IWB and OHP is useful and an important thing to think about as a teacher. When used correctly, these tools can hold students' attention and convey the teacher's message more effectively than speaking might. OHP's are especially good at reducing the amount of time that the teacher spends facing away from the class and writing because matierials can be often written in advance. Dictionaries, visual aids, and worksheets are the other tools that I am most likely to use, considering many schools do not have the more advanced electronic tools.
