Special groups (as the name implies) may need special consideration as to how best to structure and present the lessons you give. With younger children no matter what the concept or objective of the class it needs to be fun and engaging or you will lose most or all of them very quickly. A student who is tuned out will learn nothing, no matter how prepared you are. On the other end of the spectrum, adults who are taking English classes for professional reasons should have a real say at the beginning of the class as to what the most important components of the course are. This can and should be determined by a Needs Analysis.
