So far, this was the most challenging of the units because I have not covered phonemes since I was in elementary school. I have to say that I can see the value in working with phonemes, but I would not want to take so much time explaining it to students the way the teacher did in the demo video. It's almost like it's own language, and I feel that it would confuse the students. I never learned French this way, and French has just as many words that are difficult to pronounce or that sound the same when spoken even if the words are completely different from one another. The only thing that helped me in that regard was practice, practice, listening, practice...
