The unit \"Conditionals and reported speech\" started with conditionals which consist of two clause, the \"if\" clause and the main clause. The \"if\" clause contains the condition that has to be satisfied before action or state and the main clause expresses consequences.
There are five main conditionals:
1) Zero conditional: if/when + present tense, present tense
2) Fist conditional:if + present simple, will
3) Second conditional: if+ past simple, would, could, might + base form
4) Third conditional: if+ past perfect, would, could, might+ have + past participle
5) Mixed conditional: if+ past perfect, would + base form.
In another part of unit there were presented reported speech and direct speech.
Direct speech repeats, or quotes, the exact words spoken. We place the words spoken between quotation marks (\" \") and there is no change in these words. Reported or indirect speech is usually used to talk about the past, so we normally change the tense of the words spoken.
