This unit shows that anybody can be a good teacher, not just the outgoing or dominant personalities. To manage a classroom effectively, the teacher must constantly consider how the students are interacting with each other and with the teacher. This means considering seating arrangements, dividing teacher talk time and student talk time, and maintaining discipline. I was particularly interested in the section on discipline, and I like the suggestion to err on the side of strictness & discipline early in a semester. Then, later, if things are orderly, the teacher can relax and have more fun with the students.
