This unit was a good reminder of how important classroom management is. I remember it was the scariest part of first going into a classroom. It is so important to establish respect from day 1. This means learning all the students names and clearly explaining classroom expectations. I also take seating arrangements very seriously because that also sets the tone for the class. Lastly, part of classroom management is time management. Making sure that students are given time to practice whatever was taught in the lesson is important. Many new teachers try to put too much into a lesson. Quality of quantity is better.
