The two videos were very effective in showing how important the teacher's attitude, organization and methods are in achieving success in the classroom.
First, his attitude: He was not enthusiastic at all. He treated the students as if the language point was too easy and they should already know it. He made no effort to know their names, his speaking manner was poor, to the point of mumbling; he spoke too rapidly and often spoke while facing the board rather than facing the class. Also, his rapid speech, low voice + his accent all combined to confuse the students. He never smiled and delivered ill-timed corrections too often and in a demeaning fashion which intimidated the students. He was never positive.
His organization left a lot to be desired and he provided little in the way of instruction.
In the second video, his demeanor, his manner of speaking, his organization and his methods were 100% different; this total difference produced a 100% difference in the response and performance of the entire class.
