I think it is important for every class to have a course book. For teachers, it provides a syllabus, a balance of skills and even, ideas for the inexperienced teacher. In addition, even if the teachers elects not to use every lesson within the course book, the students will still have the course book as a tool that has language, pictures, descriptions, and exercises - for the curious and motivated students. Besides information, course books have multiple materials that are created for the teacher. As mentioned earlier, an inexperienced teacher can take them right out of the book, or an experienced teacher may use them to gain other ideas and create their own materials for particular lessons.
