In this unit I learn how to manage classes. There are various ways to use eye contacts, gestures, and voices. Teacher use certain gesture to cut teacher's talk time and raising and lower teacher's voice may impact the class. There are also four types of groups to assemble the students during classes. The whole-class work, pair work, group work and individual work which has their own advantages and disadvantages. The way teacher assemble the class is also giving an impact to the students. For example, horseshoe seating arrangement gives the class more of an intimate atmosphere, hence students more relaxed. Teacher also needs to understand how to manage students' behavioral problems and how to prevent it from happening. Overall, this unit is important for teachers to manage classes smoothly.
